The Perfect Weekend

If I could imagine the perfect weekend, it would take place in Cancun, Mexico. In a 5-star Hotel with breakfast in bed, big tv, big shower, and a most importantly a King size bed just for me. Eating all kinds of food, Chinese’s food, hot cheetos, ice cream, pancakes, tacos and all kinds of food to be honest.I would go out into the city to party with my firends. Doing adventures like zip lining maybe if I dare even go sky diving and exploring in caves! Sleeping in on sundays, ughhh I wish that actually came true!!:(

Homecoming

How would you feel if your mother abandoned you with no money, no food, and shelter? This book is called “Homecoming” by Cynthia Voigt. Dicey is only 13 years old and she now has to take responsibility of her 3 younger siblings. I was really shocked on how their mother left them alone, I also felt anger towards the mother because where did she wander off? Why did she leave her kids there? Their mother didn’t even give them a hug or kiss, she just disappears in the mall and leaves her kids in the car. It’s been hours and all they know is that the mall closed and they don’t know where their mother is. Dicey has to find a way to get money, food, and shelter. They go on a long walk across the country to find their Aunt Celia’s, who they never met. They later find out something tragic and they meet someone who they thought they would never meet. Who could it be?

This book is so mysterious and wild! The book is called “Wherever Nina Lies” by Lynn Weingarten. It takes place in a small town where there’s rarely any trouble. A wild, outgoing, funny, pretty girl, Nina goes missing all of a sudden, but no one know why? Everyone is devestaded asking themselves questions like where did she go? Why did she leave? 2 years have passed and no one seem to have hope that she was coming back or even think about her, not even her own mother but the only person that did have hope was her sister, Ellie, she is still wondering what happened to her and thinking about her. One day she finds a clue in a picture and she goes on a whole adventure with her crush. Later in the story she finds out Lies, mysteries, and shocking secrets. Could her life be in danger?

Black & White

This quote represents me because I’ve always been the type of person to get upset easily or I would always be negative in a way. I learned over the few months to turn that negative into happiness. It’s important to know that yes, life does have negatives, bad friendships etc, but you can just turn that the other way around you can better yourself, whatever is best for you.

Connecting between the article & The Outsiders

The Novel, “ The Outsiders” and the Article, “ Herd Behavior” have many similar connections to each other. The first connection I made was when Johnny died, Dally reacted in a wrong way, He got so upset that he ran away and went to a store, he robbed a store and threaten the cashier. While he was running he got trapped by the police and the police men shot him, he then died. This connects to the “Herd Behavior” because it talks about how a person acts on a emotion they are feeling and they should think about what they are about to do instead of acting on it.
According to the article, Herd Behavior, “It often has a connotation of irrationality, as people’s actions are driven by emotion rather than by thinking through a situation”.

Another connection I made was in the rumble, Derry and the gang were going to fight back because of the socs beating up Johnny and Ponyboy, and Johnny killing bob (socs member) rest of the gang will follow. This connects to the article because it’s talking about how when animals are in a situation where there panic or just in general they are all together never leave each other, that relates to the Novel because the whole gang is always together for everything.
According to the website, (https://www.commonlit.org/texts/herd-behavior) “All of the animals band closely together in a group and, in panic mode, move together as a unit”.

The Novel to the website has similarities and connections in a way. The Outsiders is a good book especially for middle school or High school. For some people during those ages, they can relate or maybe they been through something similar. I recommend it, it’s really good!

The Outsiders and Movie comparison

The Novel and the Movie has many similarities but has some differences as well. Some similarities in both of the stories are, Dally was being rude to cherry in the drive thru movie, Johnny told Dally to stop and he did. When Bob came for cherry, cherry refused to get in the car with him because he was drunk. Since Ponyboy came home late from when he fell asleep with Johnny in the parking lot,Derry yelled at Ponyboy and pushed him to the floor, Ponyboy got mad and ran off with Johnny. Ponyboy and Johnny went to Dally for money and somewhere to sleep. Dally told them to go to the abandoned church so they did. While they were going, the socs showed up and started beating them up, they were killing Ponyboy and Johnny, but Johnny brought his pocket knife and stabbed Bob, bob then died.(the one with the rings) The socs ran off, they were scared, Johnny started freaking out but Ponyboy was proud because he saved his life. When they got to the church, they slept and when Ponyboy woke up, Johnny was gone but then Ponyboy saw a message in the sand and it said “Be back soon” -J. Johnny bought hair dyes and scissors to disguise themselves from the cops. Dally came to go take them out to eat and when they came back to the church, it was on fire, and there was kids in there. (school) Johnny ran to get the kids out through the small space, Ponyboy ran after him to save the kids. The church went down and Johnny was still in there stuck, he then went to the hospital. Randy had a nice talk with Ponyboy about bob. Before Johnny died, the socs and the greasers had a rumble. Johnny dies in the hospital and dally runs off, robbed a store, he ran off again and the police shot him 5 times. Ponyboy at the end found the letter that Johnny wrote for him.

Finally some differences were that, the beginning of the movie, Dally, pony boy and Johnny, were in the alley and they were scaring some little kids away and ranned after them. In the book that didn't happen at all. In the  movie, Ponyboy and Johnny took the train to the church but in the book they walked to the church. When Johnny was trying to save the kids in the church, the window was wood in the book, but in the movie the window was glass. When the socs and the greasers were having a rumble, Derry asked “who wants to fight” then Paul stepped in but in the movie Derry right away fought without asking. Lastly in the book, Paul punched Derry first, but in the  movie someone punched ponyboy first.

The actors in the Novel and Movie are both the same names and how they act or how they are described. Some parts/ Scenes are different of course. Overall The movie and the Novel are both decent, and they both have the same characters and characteristics about them

My future!

In ten years I see myself in NorthShore University Healthsystem, studying, working hard to become a pediatrician. In the meantime i'll be working as a uber driver or something, just to get money. Since the University is here in Chicago, I'll be living here in a cheap apartment. Once I'm done with University which is about 7 years, i'll move to Pasadena CA and work as a petertrition over there. I will be a independent women living on my own with 2 dogs, one of them a light brown Labrador Retriever and a White Poodle. My dream car is a Jeep Cherokee, I love this car, I want it black on the outside and red on the inside. Finally when I have more money, I will travel the world with my friends or family.

The Day Everything fell Apart

My dad was the kind of guy who didn't care about anything. He was an Alcoholic, always   coming home late. He acted sweet and kind when you first met him but after rude and selfish. I was only 4 years old, happy kid. I was always excited to know when my dad came home since I barely saw him. I looked outside the window and there he was walking up the stairs very angry.
"Ma he's here!" I excitedly said
"Ok" she said

**** KNOCK KNOCK******
"It's open!" My mom said
"Did you cook???" My dad said
"No, but ill cook you something right now when I'm done painting my nails"
"NO HOW COULD YOU NOT COOK, THATS A EVERYDAY WOMENS JOB!"
"STOP IT, JOSIE IS RIGHT THERE, Josie go to your room now please"
*** runs to the kitchen to hide***
I heard my mom crying, my dad had hit her. My tears were coming down like if it was a waterfall, I was holding my cheap Curios George from khols.
*BOOM BOOM*
My dad was walking loud, it sounded like a earthquake. He opened the refrigerator door and started taking out the food from the fridge, and throwing them to the wall where I was by.
"APA STOP" I said
Our neighbor heard all the yelling and crying and called the police, my mom also called. My dad ran out as if he was a track star or it was Black Friday. He was hiding in the forest, when the police arrived they couldn't find him. It took about 2 hours and the whole time he was hiding by the train tracks (there's a lot of trees and hiding spots in there) When they found him they put him inside the car and drove off, that was the last time I saw him.
